I was talking to my good friend and fellow Achiever Tara yesterday and she mentioned all of the buzz The Big Lebowski has been getting in the past six months.  My opinion was that besides that fact that the fan base is continually growing, it's also "cool" to like the Coens again because their latest movie won a few Oscars this past year, including Best Picture.  Am I wrong?

So Tara then asked me if I was an elitist about all this.  She was wondering how I felt about people jumping on the bandwagon of bowling, pomeranians, white russians, and The Jesus.  I think it's great.  If you want to say you like my all-time favorite movie then all the more power to you.  I will admit that I am a bit of an elitist when it comes to movies in general.  I think this stems somewhat from my love for High Fidelity.   I even read Pajiba daily, but even Pajiba considers TBL one of a few films that there's nothing bad to be said of.
