There has been a lot of presidential talk with Obama being elected, Oliver Stone's W coming out and Frost/Nixon being recently released.  Many people bring up Jeff Bridges' performance in The Contender, which we reviewed in an episode a while back.

For those of you who have heard my thoughts on Terry Gilliam's Tideland, you most likely know my dislike for that film.  I got suckered in by somebody telling me Jeff Bridges played "the dude" in it.  Well, I didn't exactly agree with that synopsis and had to force myself to finish watching the thing.    I found a blog with some thoughts on the movie, in defense of Gilliam's project.  I can't say I've changed my mind, but some things make more sense now.
