If you don't read Pop Candy, the USA Today pop culture blog, you should really start.  Whitney Matheson is the one who ties that scene together.  She also talked to us back in September about her experiences at the Lebowski Fest and her love for Lebowski.  Anyways, today she posted about an upcoming art show in Salt Lake City with a Lebowski theme.

Next, I have a few movie reviews for you: Burn After Reading, The Amateurs, and The Big Lebowski.  I find it interesting that a lot of people just gushed over No Country for Old Men and then hated Burn After Reading.  This seems a lot like Fargo followed by Lebowski, am I wrong?  This review says Burn After wasn't the best movie ever, but it's still very funny.  I can most definitely appreciate and agree with that.

The second review is about Jeff Bridges 2005 project, The Amateurs.  In this film Andy, played by Bridges, convinces his town to participate in his project to create an amateur porn film.  I know, I know, this sounds terrible.  Well it's not.  Contrary to Zach and Miri Make a Porno, The Amateurs doesn't actually contain nudity.  And it's hilarious to boot.  I highly suggest you check it out if you haven't already.  We also reviewed the film in a past episode if you'd like to hear our notes.

The third review is about what we love best, The Big Lebowski.  I come across these often, but they usually don't have much to say.  Occasionally I come across one like this where the author puts some thought into their review.  Enjoy.

Lastly, I'm sure you've heard all about how Jeff Dowd got punched at Sundance.  I'm also pretty sure some of you didn't see this interview he gave at Sundance, before the altercation.  It's all about surviving as a filmmaker in these tough economic times.  It's a bit long, but worth reading if you have the time.
