If you know much about the Coen Brothers, you know they're comprised of the older Joel and younger Ethan. Ethan has also done some side writing here and there. Due to a great tip from a friend, I was able to pick up Gates of Eden on cassette for just $1, used, on Amazon. Gates of Eden is a collection of short stories and the tapes had actors reading them - people like John Goodman, John Turturro, Steve Buscemi, Matt Dillon, Ben Stiller and others. Anyways, back to the point of this post, Ethan is returning to the theater with a new collection of one-act plays called Offices. They'll be about white collar workers. This is just screaming Office Space or The Office. Put a Coen Brother script twist on that and I'm drooling. Previews are set to begin on April 15th and the premiere is May 7th. The show only runs for a month and ends May 31st. I'm most likely not going to get a chance to go. Did anybody attend Almost an Evening? That's the first off-Broadway project Ethan did. A book version is available on Amazon. Big thanks to Coenesque for the heads up - http://coenbrothers.net/blog/ethan-co en-going-off-broadway-again/169/
