What comes to mind when you think of a bowling alley? What kind of sights and smells immediately appear? When I was a kid I remember bowling alleys being full of cigarette smoke and filled with the incessant sound of pins being knocked down. There was always a bar, and usually a place to get cheap, nasty food. There were almost always video games and/or pool tables too and a pro shop that never seemed to be open when I was there. I'm sure many of the attendees to the New York Lebowski Fest can attest to the poshness of the bowling alley Will and Scott lined up in 2008. Bowling is coming back and it's coming back in style. The Lucky Strike Lanes in Manhattan is definitely the place to be. They've turned their bowling alley into more of a club than a sad, dirty place to hang out with friends after work. Complete with a bouncer and velvet rope, this alley has restaurant-quality food and a dress code. Sounds like you might need to reserve a lane if you don't want to wait.
