A while back I saw something on TV about a 24hr car race called The 24hrs of LeMons.  People enter some pretty interesting cars.  This isn't anything like Nascar.  Cole, a buddy of mine from college sent me a link to alert us about a particular entry into the race.

They ended up being 21st out of 102 entries with a best lap time of 2:47.618.

If you're interested in the race, I believe it takes place every year.  This year the race took place in Reno, NV on May 23rd and  24th.  Entries were due by May 14th.  Only major rules for cars are all headlights, taillights and sidemarkers must be removed or taped over.  I'm assuming this helps prevent punctured tires.  There are also some noise restrictions so you probably can't go sans-muffler.  For a complete list of rules, regulations and all general info, visit the main site - http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/reno09/
