It's been 12 years since Roseanne has been over. Luckily "Walter" has been in quite a few films to keep the Goodman fans tied over. I was just checking out the latest over at Pajiba and saw that John Goodman just signed onto The Station, a new show on Fox. Here's what Pajiba had to say.
Twelve years after “Roseanne” went off the air, John Goodman is finally returning to TV sitcomdom. He’s signed on to Fox’s “The Station,” a show about CIA operatives in South America working to install a new dictator. Goodman will play the head of the station, and joins Justin Bartha (Doug in The Hangover) and a few other who-dats (Whitney Cummings, Rob Huebel and Julio Oscar Mechoso).
Sounds like a kinda kooky idea which could be great, or could be suck. And the IMDB resume for the writer, Kevin Napeier, doesn’t help shed any light on which way the show will tip, as the only other writing credit to his name is a 12-minute video short. In fact, the best info we have to go on is that the show comes from Ben Stiller’s production company, and that’s not really a good thing for me as I pretty much don’t trust anything that gets near the formerly-funny-now-eternally-douchey little man.
But it doesn’t matter. Suck or swim, I’m stoked anyway because Goodman is awesome, and if he doesn’t have a heart attack before the show is canceled (seriously John, you’ve got to trim down a little), it will be a pleasure to see him regularly on my TV again, even if it’s in a suck fest.
