I think last night was one of the few times I've seen more than one Lebowski actor pop up in a TV show on the same night. I've often seen several movies on, with Lebowski actors, in the same day or something along those lines, but these were new episodes.
If you're a Thursday night television watcher, like Liz and myself, then you might have caught Steve Buscemi, Donny, making another appearance as Jack Donaghy's (Alec Baldwin) lawyer - Lenny Wosniak. I believe this is the 4th time "Lenny" has appeared. He even says random things occasionally and last night I yelled, "Lenny, you're out of your element!" We've really enjoyed seeing "Donny" make an appearance on an already hilarious show.
Another show I sometimes watch, it's something Liz really enjoys, is The Mentalist. The bad-guy of the week was a biker, gang-leader played by Mark Pellegrino, otherwise known as Jackie Treehorn's blonde thug. I usually recognize Pellegrino's voice before I notice him on screen. This was especially true when he made an appearance on Lost. He definitely looks different in many of his roles. I also think it's fair to say he was much more of a thug here than in The Big Lebowski.
So what's my point? I'll tell you my point - I was just wondering what some of you think about actors in different roles. On one hand it's great they're getting work, but sometimes you get so used to them playing one character, or you really start to believe they are one character. I think I'll forever see Jeff Bridges as "The Dude" no matter what he's in. What do you think when you see them in different roles or behaving differently? I'm sure none of you are the reactionaries that get worked up or weirded out by this kind of stuff, but I've seen and heard about those types.
