We've talked about these at some point in the past, but wanted to give you a reminder on some films that might interest you.
A Serious Man This film has been out for a few weeks and is the Coen Brothers' latest film. We saw it and really enjoyed it. It's interesting to read the reviews because people seem to love it or hate it. Lately we've seen a lot of rants coming over the interwebs about how the Coens aren't Jewish enough? Some seem to be worked up about the portrayal of Jews in this film. If you ask me, they're a little too focused on the background of the characters and are missing the whole point...but that's just like, my opinion, man.
The Men Who Stare At Goats This movie looks to be pretty great. It stars Jeff Bridges, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, and some other faces you're sure to recognize. It's about the US Government tyring to train a secret group of "super-powered" soliders. We're not talking X-Men or Heroes here. More along the lines of people with extra strong mental powers. It looks hilarious.
The Boat That Rocked (Pirate Radio - US title) Philip Seymour Hoffman stars in this film about some renegade DJs off the coast of England in 1966. Hoffman's character reminds me of his role as Lester Bing in Almost Famous and I'm excited to see this one as well.
