Jeff Bridges is one of those actors who is well respected in the business.  It's not because of his father's legacy, nor his family's long acting history.  It's not because he makes big millions in blockbusters every year, and he's not in the headlines for making an idiot of himself at night clubs and other social events.  He's The Dude and the man for his time and place.

Up until now Bridges has been nominated four times for an Academy award.  You know, those little golden statues that come with interesting acceptance speeches.  To date he has not won yet, but there's talk of that changing.  Coming out later this year is a film called Crazy Heart.  It's a story about an old, broken down Country music singer who is getting some perspective on his life and trying to change things around.  I haven't seen it, but "they" are saying it's somewhat similar to The Wrestler in that it's an underdog, come-back story.  It's supposed to be really good and I hope it is too.  Here's a great article Marquis sent in to us.  I thought you might enjoy it.
