Now here's something I can easily get behind - free bowling for the unemployed. Yes, that's right. Free bowling to those without the necessary means for the necessary means to get a lane and a pair of shoes. I would say this guy is obviously an Achiever, but we all know what happens when you start assuming things. The free bowling is centered around a weekly job fair to try and help people find jobs. Dan Labrecque, owner of Nottke's Family Fun Center in Battle Creek, Michigan came up with the idea. He knows what it's like to be jobless and thought this would be a great way to help his patrons. While many have shown up every week for the Unemployment League, this hasn't necessarily garner everyone a job. Some come dressed for success and others more casual. The problem is there just aren't enough jobs. According to the article linked below, December 2nd will probably be the last date Labrecque will be holding this event at his bowling alley. There just aren't enough employers in his immediate area that are hiring. The good news is that other owners/managers representing over 170 bowling centers have shown up to this event and are hoping to start up similar events in their own communities. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125901918572961399.html For more information on Nottke's Family Fun Center and the Unemployment League, please visit their site - http://www.nottkes.com/
