I'm going to assume that all of you are familiar with the Internet Movie Database, or http://www.imdb.com.  It's a place where you can look up actors, directors, films, writers, producers, crew, etc for films and television.  It's an amazing resource and a great place to find out who what's-his-face was in that film you just finished watching.

Well there's a new site out called the Internet Movie Firearm Database.  It's kind of like IMDB, but it tracks guns and firearms used in films.  As I'm sure you've guessed by now, there is entry for The Big Lebowski.  There are three guns used in the film:

  • M1911A1 - this is the .45 pistol Walter carried around in his bowling bag
  • Uzi - this is the sub-machine gun Walter rolled out of the Dude's car with, subsequently shooting The Dude's car
  • Heckler & Koch MP5K - this gun is often overlooked.  In the final showdown between the Nihilists and Walter, The Dude, and Donny, one of the Nihilists is packing heat

From this information you can then see other films that contain these same weapons and so forth.  I realize this could be very boring for you, but for weapon buffs, this is pretty sweet and amazing.  I invite you to check it out.
