Did you know the Coen Brothers have other writing projects besides the films they direct? They re-wrote the script for Gambit and finally got a green light on its production. When I hear the word "gambit" I immediately think of that character from the X-Men who throws cards and they blow up, but in this case it's actually a 1966 Michael Caine film. Is it just me, or does it seem like all of his movies get re-made? So Crime Scene Pictures (a new studio) has picked up the deal and Michael Hoffman has been chosen to direct. The original film is about a guy trying to steal a statue but everything that can go wrong does. This sounds exactly like something the Coens would do. Now I need to see if the original is on Netflix. http://www.shockya.com/news/2010/11/19/coen-brothers-gambit-remake-finally-picked-up/
