If you haven't seen the Coen Brothers' latest film - True Grit based on the novel by Charles Portis, you probably don't know there's this weird scene where Matt Damon spanks a teenage girl. It doesn't really make sense in the parlance of our times, but you must remember the time period in which the story takes place. I'm not saying I agree with the actions, but I guess it makes sense.
Anyway, I found this interview where Damon talks about this part of the film and how it was the most awkward, and hardest thing he's ever had to do as an actor. Damon has four daughters of his own and the thought of striking a child really grated against his core values. I was glad to know Damon had problems doing scenes. It definitely raises my opinion of him.
