The 10th annual Lebowski Fest kicks off next Friday. Are you going? We'll be there and are hosting a meetup again. It'll kick off at 3pm on Saturday the 16th. We'll have raffle prizes, and by raffle I mean you get one free entry. We'll have one of the new Lebowski Podcast t-shirts, a Sioux City Sarsaparilla bottle opener, and a DVD set of Branded. On top of that you'll get to meet some fellow achievers from around the world.
We have more information on the meetup here - https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=213923608645462

Jim Hoosier, aka Liam, will be making another appearance at the Fest. Scott and Will also have a great line-up of bands as usual. If you haven't been to a fest before, here's a rundown of what happens.
Friday - Film night On Friday they show The Big Lebowski on the Executive Strike and Spare lawn. You'll see some people dressed in costume, but most people save dressing up for Saturday. They'll have fair-style food carts available to get some food and beverages. You'll also have a chance to mingle with everyone. The Lebowski Fest merch table will be available if you need a t-shirt of what have you.
Tips: Save your costume, or best costume, for Saturday. Bring a lawn chair or blanket if you want to sit down while watching the movie. You might need some bug spray if the mosquitoes are out.
Saturday - Lebowski Podcast Meetup, Garden Party and Bowling Party I mentioned the Podcast meetup above. The Garden Party starts at 4pm, so it's a perfect chance to show up a little early, meet some people and hang out in the air conditioned bowling alley.
The Garden Party is where you can experience the bands, enjoy the carnival-style games, hang out with your friends, and get some sun. The Lebowski Fest merch table will be available again
The Bowling Party is where you can bowl, try the trivia contest, dress up for the costume contests, and have a great time. This is where most of the action takes place. You'll see some ringers for all your favorite characters, some group costumes, and some very unique and creative costumes. The more studious achievers will be battling for the title of trivia champion, and there's plenty of music and excitement for everyone in attendance.
Tips: Be sure to come to the meetup as you'll have a chance to win one of our raffle prizes. The Garden Party will probably be sunny and hot, so be sure to apply some sunscreen if you're prone to burning. While everyone loves to party in the bowling alley, try not to get too out of hand. The cops have been called more than once to remove drunk and abusive achievers over the years. You definitely don't want to be one of those who winds up in country lock up.
General Tips: Keep tabs on your camera, cell phone and what have you. Every year people lose their valuables and rarely find them. On the flip side, if you find some lost items, please turn them in to the front desk at the bowling alley, hotel, or where you are. You should also check out the great city of Louisville while you're there. Bardstown Road is an amazing shopping district/neighborhood full of great restaurants and independent shops/stores. The Dude and I will be in search of the best burger in town and will report back what we find. Let us know if we forgot any tips or information.
